The first time you open it

  1. Open the downloaded file and drag the app to Applications.
  2. Open it once. macOS says it cannot verify the app and offers Move to Trash or Done: choose Done.
  3. Go to System Settings, then Privacy & Security, scroll down and choose Open Anyway. Enter your Mac password if it asks.

No Open Anyway there? Talk to us on Discord (opens in a new tab).

The app is not signed with an Apple developer certificate yet, which is why macOS asks. It never updates itself, so a new version is a new download.

The app talks to the AI provider you sign in to. On its own it also asks Elixir Games for its plugin list, and OpenRouter, an AI service it can use, for its public list of models. Publish to Elixir opens this site in your browser. Anything else it fetches only when you ask for it.

How a game gets onto Elixir

  1. You bring the idea

Describe the game you always wanted to play, in your own words. One paragraph is enough.

  2. AI builds it

AI writes the code and you say what to change: in the app on your own Mac, or with us, from our build prompt and kit.

  3. We publish it

Every game is reviewed before it enters the Elixir store. We publish yours on Elixir, cover art and all.

  4. Anyone launches its token

Anyone can launch its token, you included: nobody needs our approval.

  5. Players find it

With its token live, it joins the shelf for anyone to play, and you meet its players on Discord.

The tools

You never touch the code. The app builds with tools of its own; these are ours, and in Season 1 we run them with you.
